Brent

Well for two days now I have working on getting Brent out of jail. What a nightmare that is, working with the court system and the jail. Paying fines and having to have 'exact change'. Being treated like a criminal yourself. Only some people want to actually help you with your questions on what to do next in the process of getting someone released. The news keeps stating "the jail is over crowded. Inmates that are dangerous could be released due to over-crowding". What a joke! Let out people like Brent who is in for possession of marijuana and two unpaid cash only bails for driving on suspension.

When some one gets in trouble (and no, my brother has not been an angel) it just seems so hard for people to pull themselves out. I just pulled up the jail roster and he was not on it. He said he would call as soon as he was released. I have not heard from him yet.

Well this isn't the first time I have been the only one responsible enough to get someone out of jail. I wish people who are 'friends' of inmates would buck up when someone they supposedly care about is in there!

Actually, by bailing him out, you are the one hurting him. He needs to learn to pull himself out of trouble or he'll never stop getting into it. He's an adult. Don't pay his bills for him. Don't give him money. Offer him meals, yes. Let him stay with you or lean on your shoulder, yes. But stop enabling him. No money. No bailing him out. Let him deal with having consequences for his actions, or he will never have any reason to change.
