Brent is clean

This is very exciting for me write about. Brent, the brother I bailed out of jail, is clean and has been since shortly before he went jail. It has been almost a year now. Being able to talk to him with a straight mind is nothing short of a miracle. He calls me out of the blue now where before, we would go a year or more without talking.

Meth was his choice of drug. What a mess he was.

Brent and I enjoyed a cup of coffee together the other day. He was talking about camping and fishing, activities he loves. When he was on meth, he didn't do any of these things. He was saying he asked a few of his friends (people still on meth) to get away with him for a weekend. He couldn't beleive they didn't want to. He said to me "I hope I wasn't that bad". I made sure he knew he was "that bad".

The drug is so horrible, people who are doing it, don't have a clue about what is going on. Everything is everyone else's fault and they have no personal responsibilty.

Brent even mentioned he is interested in bringing his taxes current. This is another step in the right direction.
